Dr. Cheng Yicheng
Rectal bleeding after alcohol consumption may result from alcohol-induced irritation. Following alcohol intake, capillaries in the area of internal hemorrhoids dilate; during defecation, increased intra-abdominal pressure can cause these dilated capillaries to rupture, leading to rectal bleeding. Patients with hemorrhoids are advised to avoid alcohol consumption. Instead, they should consume more fresh fruits and vegetables, engage in appropriate physical exercise, maintain regular bowel movements, and perform daily warm-water sitz baths to ensure perianal hygiene.
