What causes mouth ulcers and swollen, painful lymph nodes?
Disease description:
Normally, my mouth hurts as soon as I eat; examination revealed oral ulcers and swollen lymph nodes. Why do oral ulcers cause lymph node pain?
Oral ulcers accompanied by lymph node pain are typically caused by inflammation or other similar factors. When oral ulcers are secondary to an underlying condition, they may lead to localized lymphadenitis, manifesting as pain, redness, and swelling of the affected lymph nodes. Patients require a thorough medical evaluation followed by appropriate treatment. Oral administration of levofloxacin or application of oral ulcer powder may be considered. Patients are advised to increase fluid intake and avoid “heat-inducing” foods (e.g., spicy, fried, or overly warming foods).
