What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding with Blood Clots?
Disease description:
I’m not sure if it’s due to consuming cold foods or something else, but this month I noticed quite a few blood clots during my period. What causes heavy menstrual bleeding with numerous clots?
Experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding with numerous blood clots may indicate gynecological inflammation or a gynecological tumor. Menstrual blood is typically dark red and does not normally coagulate; however, excessive menstrual flow can lead to clot formation. Conditions such as cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and endometritis cause inflammation that disrupts normal menstruation, resulting in abundant blood clots during menses. Similarly, uterine fibroids, cervical tumors, and ovarian tumors can also cause significant clotting in menstrual blood.
