Whether traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can treat uterine fibroids depends on the size of the fibroids. Generally, for smaller fibroids—those under 5 cm in diameter—certain TCM herbs that promote blood circulation and resolve stasis may be used to inhibit fibroid growth and slow their progression. However, fibroids larger than 5 cm typically require surgical removal. Regular ultrasound examinations are recommended to monitor the status of uterine fibroids.
