What Causes Knee Pain in Pregnant Women?
Disease description:
I’m six months pregnant, and for the past two days, I’ve been experiencing pain and discomfort in my knees. I’m quite concerned and would like to know what causes knee pain during pregnancy.
Knee pain during pregnancy may stem from several causes. It could result from calcium deficiency, which is common during pregnancy and can lead to knee discomfort. Alternatively, it may be caused by exposure of the knees to cold temperatures. Additionally, the significant weight gain typical in pregnancy increases mechanical stress on the knee joints, potentially causing overuse injuries and pain. Other pathological conditions—such as synovitis or tendinitis—should also be considered as possible contributors to the pain.
