Villonodular synovitis commonly causes knee pain, swelling, and restricted joint mobility; in severe cases, it may significantly impair daily functioning. Pain is the most frequent symptom—particularly noticeable during knee flexion or with excessive knee movement. As this condition is typically associated with synovial effusion, fluid accumulation within the knee joint occurs, leading to swelling. In severe cases, this swelling may further limit joint motion.
