Does having lymph nodes on the neck indicate HIV/AIDS?

Disease description:

The weather is hot, but I don’t like drinking water. When I woke up, I noticed slight swelling of my lymph nodes—though I have no other discomfort. I’ve heard that this can be a symptom of HIV/AIDS, so I’d like to ask: Does having swollen lymph nodes in the neck mean I have HIV/AIDS?

The above condition is not AIDS. Clinically, there are many possible causes for these symptoms, which are generally mild and may result from an upper respiratory tract infection or an allergic reaction. Typically, during the first 2–4 weeks after HIV infection, the virus disseminates systemically, often causing symptoms such as fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, and lymphadenopathy; these symptoms usually resolve within 1–3 weeks. If you remain concerned, you may visit a hospital for HIV testing and tuberculosis screening.
