These are symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection; therefore, close monitoring of body temperature is essential. Parents should provide meticulous care—ensuring the child drinks adequate fluids, maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature, offering light and easily digestible meals, and encouraging sufficient rest. Most children recover fully within three to five days. Mild viral infections can often resolve spontaneously with supportive measures such as treating cold and runny nose symptoms and encouraging increased fluid intake to help flush the virus from the body. However, if symptoms fail to improve after treatment, worsen, or new symptoms develop, it is advisable to take the child to a hospital for medical evaluation.
