Disease description:

When my daughter was born, she was relatively frail. Now that she is 9 years old, we have always paid close attention to her development. Recently, we noticed breast protrusion and would like to ask: What is the normal standard for breast development in a 9-year-old girl?

A breast bud appears, and tenderness is felt upon palpation. Concurrently, the area of areolar pigmentation gradually enlarges, and the areola becomes slightly elevated. In some cases, mild breast development may occur, sometimes accompanied by firm nodules. As the breasts develop and mature, the swelling and tenderness resolve spontaneously. In summary, mild breast tenderness during breast development is a normal physiological phenomenon; parents need not be alarmed. Breast development typically takes 4–6 years to complete.
