Acne on the philtrum (the vertical groove between the nose and upper lip) may occur because this area has a relatively high density of sebaceous glands and hair follicles, making it a common site for acne development. It may also result from excessive sebum production and inadequate cleansing, leading to follicular obstruction and subsequent acne formation. It is recommended to use gentle facial cleansers and skincare products in daily care to promote acne recovery. Importantly, never squeeze acne on the philtrum, as this region lies within the “dangerous triangle” of the face—a vascular area where improper manipulation can potentially lead to intracranial infection.
