What should I do if a mosquito enters my nose?
Disease description:
There are more mosquitoes in summer. After dinner last night, while I was walking downstairs to aid digestion, a mosquito flew into my nose. Now it feels itchy. Could you please advise what to do if a mosquito enters the nose?
First, block the nostril that does not contain the insect, then gently squeeze the other nostril—this often expels the insect. It may also be expelled naturally through sneezing or nasal discharge; however, there is generally no need for excessive concern. Maintain good indoor hygiene and drink warm water regularly (note: drinking warm water does not kill mosquitoes). If neither method successfully removes the insect, it is advisable to visit an otolaryngologist (ENT specialist) for evaluation to locate the insect within the nasal cavity, followed by safe removal using a nasal suction device.
