Wrinkle reduction should be tailored to the type of wrinkles, using appropriate injectable treatments. For dynamic wrinkles—such as forehead lines, crow’s feet, and glabellar lines—injection of botulinum toxin is generally preferred, as it relaxes the underlying muscles and results in tighter, smoother skin. For static (non-dynamic) wrinkles—such as nasolabial folds, tear troughs, and marionette lines—dermal fillers like hyaluronic acid or autologous fat injections can effectively plump up the skin and smooth out the wrinkles.
