Why do patients with lupus nephritis due to systemic lupus erythematosus sweat during sleep?
Disease description:
Since I developed lupus nephritis, I sweat during sleep even in the cold winter, and it's worse in summer. I would like to know why lupus nephritis causes sweating during sleep?
Lupus nephritis patients experience night sweats. Since kidney yang is the foundation of all yang energy in the body, vital activities are driven by yang qi. For example, insufficient kidney yang fails to provide adequate warmth, leading to sensitivity to cold. After a long winter, when the body's stored essence and qi become depleted and constitution weakens, symptoms such as dampness, night sweats, insomnia, and fatigue may occur at night. Among middle-aged and elderly individuals, obvious physical and mental exhaustion due to work and family stress can easily lead to autonomic nervous system dysfunction, resulting in night sweats. Patients with lupus nephritis suffer from impaired kidney function and deficient kidney qi, making them prone to nocturnal sweating, which manifests as spontaneous (deficient) sweating.
