The clinical symptoms of gastric cancer and gastric ulcer are quite different. Patients with gastric cancer may experience stomach pain, weight loss, and fatigue. The pain can progressively worsen and radiate to the back, and it shows no significant improvement after anti-acid treatment. Patients with cardia gastric cancer may also suffer from acid reflux and dysphagia, with swallowing difficulty gradually worsening over time. In contrast, patients with gastric ulcers usually have a longer disease course with recurrent pain; however, their symptoms respond well to anti-acid therapy, and they typically do not exhibit weight loss, decreased appetite, or anemia.
