I've been feeling pain in the joints of my middle and ring fingers for the past couple of days. Now I'm even afraid to lift anything heavy. I'd like to know what could be causing this joint pain in the middle and ring fingers.

The cause may be intense physical activity, which can lead to joint contusions, or prolonged high-load work, which may result in chronic joint strain and consequently cause pain. If finger movement—particularly flexion and extension of the ring finger—is restricted, accompanied by obvious catching and snapping sensations, along with a noticeable lump at the base of the ring finger, a diagnosis of tenosynovitis can be made. This condition arises from long-term repetitive force and motion of the tendon, leading to tendon edema, degeneration, calcification, and strain of the tendon sheath. These changes impair tendon mobility, trigger an inflammatory response, and cause pain.
