Such conditions as ganglion cysts are caused by abnormal proliferation of the tendon sheath tissue. Small ganglion cysts may not produce any clinical symptoms. If normal function is affected, surgical removal can be considered. Swelling and deformity of the finger joints may also result from rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally, prolonged fatigue and wear can lead to hard nodules in the joints, and patients should rest more.
