After an injury to the chin, the wound may be deep and prone to hematoma or abscess formation. Applying a warm towel compress can help reduce tissue swelling. Alternatively, you may choose to observe for some time. If the hard lump does not subside, an ultrasound examination is recommended. If hematoma or abscess is detected, drainage is advised to prevent tissue damage.
