What does it mean when there are calcified foci in the liver lobe?
Disease description:
Two days ago, when I went to the hospital for a liver ultrasound, the doctor mentioned that my liver had symptoms of calcification foci. What does it mean to have calcification foci in the liver lobes?
Calcification foci in the liver lobe may result from intrahepatic inflammation or hepatolithiasis (stones in the intrahepatic bile ducts), or could be caused by specific changes following necrosis of liver cells. Additionally, localized deposition of calcium salts cannot be ruled out as a contributing factor. Patients with calcification foci in the liver should undergo regular follow-up examinations at the hospital to monitor changes in their condition promptly, and when necessary, actively cooperate with physicians for appropriate treatment.
