Disease description:

I am a 20-year-old female. This month, I noticed that my period stopped for a few days and then started again. I'm very concerned about this situation and worried it might be due to some problem with my body. What could be the reason for a period stopping for a few days and then restarting?

After menstruation stops for a few days, it may resume due to a small amount of menstrual blood remaining and accumulating in the uterine cavity that has not yet been expelled. Physical activity can promote uterine contractions, causing the retained blood to be discharged, which explains why menstruation may reappear two or three days after it seemingly stopped. If light bleeding occurs one week after menstruation ends, it could be ovulation-related bleeding, which typically resolves on its own without special treatment; maintaining good local hygiene is sufficient. It is also important to rule out bleeding caused by pathological factors, such as vaginitis, cervicitis, cervical lesions, or endometrial polyps, as these conditions can also lead to irregular vaginal bleeding.
