Disease description:

I’ve experienced severe lower abdominal pain during each of my last two sexual encounters with my husband, and it takes a long time for the pain to subside. However, there has been no vaginal bleeding. I’d like to know: what could be causing lower abdominal pain after intercourse?

Hello, abdominal pain following sexual intercourse is most commonly caused by gynecological inflammation—for example, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), salpingo-oophoritis (inflammation of the fallopian tubes and ovaries), or cervical inflammation. Another possible cause is compression syndrome. To help prevent such issues, maintain good genital hygiene, practice safe and hygienic sexual habits, avoid prolonged standing, follow a light and balanced diet, and regularly change and wash your underwear. We hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you a happy and healthy life!
