For late-stage liver cancer patients experiencing abdominal distension and ascites, multiple approaches can be used: 1. Diuretic therapy: Diuretic medications such as furosemide and bumetanide can be used to promote excretion of excess fluid from the body and alleviate symptoms of ascites. 2. Plasma and albumin infusion: Patients with advanced liver cancer often experience reduced albumin synthesis. Infusion of plasma and albumin can increase blood osmotic pressure and reduce ascites formation. 3. Paracentesis: For patients with severe ascites and significant abdominal distension, paracentesis (abdominal fluid drainage) may be performed to rapidly relieve symptoms of distension. However, excessive drainage should be avoided to prevent patient collapse. 4. Antitumor therapy: This includes interventions such as transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), chemotherapy, and targeted therapy. These treatments aim to control tumor growth and reduce ascites production. 5. Daily care: Patients should maintain a semi-recumbent position to reduce pressure on the respiratory system caused by ascites. Additionally, dietary intake should be carefully managed, avoiding high-protein and greasy foods to reduce the burden on the liver.
