Why does a child sweat during sleep at night?
I am a 28-year-old female and have a one-year-old baby. I would like to ask, why does my child sweat during sleep at night?

Children sweating during sleep at night may be a normal physiological phenomenon known as "physiological hyperhidrosis." If the sweating is excessive or accompanied by other symptoms, it may be pathological, and the following aspects should be considered:
1. Thermal environment: A room that is too hot or excessive bedding may cause children to sweat. Ensure a comfortable sleeping environment with appropriate room temperature and avoid overdressing or overwrapping the child.
2. Growth and development: Children undergoing rapid growth phases may sweat more due to increased metabolic activity, which is generally not a cause for concern.
3. Disease indicators: If a child consistently sweats heavily at night and also experiences weight loss, fever, poor appetite, or other symptoms, it could be a sign of infection, malnutrition, or certain diseases such as heart conditions or endocrine disorders. In such cases, prompt medical attention is necessary.
Occasional night sweating is usually normal, but frequent episodes or those accompanied by other abnormalities should be taken seriously. Maintain healthy lifestyle habits, monitor the child's overall health condition, and consult a pediatrician when necessary.
