Why do pimples hurt?
Disease description:
I am 26 years old this year. Recently, I have been experiencing painful pimples. I would like to know why pimples can be painful.

Reasons why pimples may hurt:
1. Pimple formation is often accompanied by blockage of the hair follicle opening. This blockage may trigger an inflammatory response in the local skin area. When infected by pathogens such as bacteria or fungi, the inflammatory reaction intensifies, causing redness, swelling, and pain in the skin surrounding the pimple.
2. Patients with pimples generally have relatively lower skin immunity, making the skin more prone to dryness and peeling. This increases the skin's sensitivity to irritation, thereby intensifying the sensation of pain.
3. Frequently squeezing or rubbing pimples with the hands may further aggravate inflammation, cause additional infection or skin irritation, and lead to more intense pain.
Therefore, when dealing with pimples, one should avoid squeezing or irritating them, maintain skin cleanliness, and seek medical attention promptly when necessary.
