Can heart failure be cured?

In general, heart failure cannot be completely cured, but its progression can be controlled, symptoms can be alleviated, and patients' quality of life can be improved through effective treatment and management. Heart failure is a chronic, progressive disease. Its main treatment goals are to relieve symptoms, slow disease progression, reduce mortality rates, and lower hospital readmission rates. For heart failure with a clear underlying cause, such as tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, myocarditis-induced dilated cardiomyopathy, alcoholic cardiomyopathy, drug-related cardiomyopathy, or cardiomyopathy caused by hyperthyroidism, removing the underlying cause and providing appropriate treatment may lead to reversal of heart failure and even achieve clinical cure. However, such cases are uncommon and require high levels of patient cooperation and patience throughout the treatment process.
