Why do children sweat a lot while sleeping?
Disease description:
I don't know what's been going on with my child these past few months. The weather hasn't been particularly hot, but he/she often sweats during the night, frequently soaking his/her back. I'd like to ask what might be causing my child to sweat excessively at night?

Children who frequently sweat during sleep may be affected by factors such as poor body temperature regulation, post-illness weakness, or deficiencies in calcium and vitamin D.
1. Poor body temperature regulation: As children's temperature regulation centers are not yet fully developed, they have weaker abilities to adjust their body temperature and are more susceptible to temperature changes. If the indoor temperature is too high or the child wears excessive clothing while sleeping, it may lead to frequent sweating during sleep.
2. Post-illness weakness: After contracting infectious diseases such as upper respiratory tract infections, acute gastroenteritis, or suppurative parotitis, children may experience frequent sweating during sleep due to physical weakness. Enhancing nutrition, engaging in appropriate exercise, maintaining a balanced diet, and ensuring adequate rest after illness can help alleviate the sweating once the body recovers from post-illness weakness.
3. Deficiencies in calcium and vitamin D: Excessive sweating can also occur when children lack these nutrients, potentially leading to frequent night sweating. Children may also exhibit symptoms such as flared costal margins and night awakenings. Under a doctor's guidance, appropriate supplementation of vitamin D and calcium can help improve these symptoms.
