How to Remove Pearly Penile Papules
Disease description:
While showering, I accidentally noticed numerous small bumps on my penis. After visiting the hospital for an examination, I was diagnosed with pearly penile papules. Could you please advise on the most effective treatment options for removing them?
Hello,
Pearly penile papules (PPP) are not a pathological condition but rather a benign tissue variation, also known as hirsutoid papillomas of the penis. They commonly occur in males aged 2–30 years and typically present as tiny, skin-colored, pinhead-sized papules clustered along the coronal sulcus of the glans penis. These lesions are usually asymptomatic. Since PPP is not a disease, treatment is generally unnecessary; maintaining routine genital hygiene suffices. However, some individuals may feel psychologically distressed by their appearance and opt for removal via laser therapy.
