Hello, it is safe to clean the navel if it contains debris; however, proper cleaning techniques must be observed. Improper cleaning may easily lead to local infection. Additionally, avoid exposing the area to cold temperatures, as this may readily cause abdominal pain. To clean the navel, gently use a cotton swab dipped in body wash or mild soap.
