Which is more serious: nephritis or ulcerative colitis?
Disease description:
I previously had nephritis, which has not yet been cured, and now I’ve developed ulcerative colitis. I’d like to ask: Which of these two conditions is more serious?
Hello, both of these conditions are relatively serious and involve distinct diseases affecting different organ systems; therefore, there is generally little clinical correlation between them. If you are experiencing both conditions simultaneously, active, individualized management and treatment are essential. Typically, ulcerative colitis can be managed with medication, along with dietary adjustments in daily life. In contrast, nephritis usually requires a renal biopsy to guide targeted pharmacological therapy. I hope this information is helpful to you. Wishing you good health!
