1. Local treatment: A 2% sodium bicarbonate solution (e.g., baking soda or soda ash) may be used to gently cleanse the oral cavity. Subsequently, nystatin powder—prepared by grinding nystatin tablets—may be mixed with cod liver oil drops and applied evenly to the affected areas, yielding marked therapeutic efficacy. 2. Systemic treatment: Oral antifungal medications—such as nystatin or clotrimazole—may be administered for comprehensive management. Alternatively, cotton swabs dipped in a nystatin solution may be applied directly to oral lesions; 1% gentian violet solution may also be painted onto the oral mucosa. Additionally, the oral cavity may be rinsed with a 2–3% sodium bicarbonate solution, or topical applications of Bingpeng San (a traditional Chinese herbal powder) or borax glycerin may be used. If systemic antifungal therapy is required for infantile oral candidiasis (thrush), prompt medical consultation is essential, and treatment must be conducted under the guidance of a physician.
