A lump under the armpit may indicate lymph node enlargement. Alternatively, it could result from inflammation of the axillary sweat glands or sebaceous glands. Inflammation of sweat or sebaceous glands is often accompanied by varying degrees of skin pain; some cases may also involve itching or exudation.
