1. **Hypocalcemia**: In children with hypocalcemia, neuromuscular excitability is relatively increased, leading to symptoms such as muscle spasms, emotional instability, and irritability.
2. **Developmental immaturity**: During infancy and early childhood, incomplete development of organs—including the brain and nervous system—may result in movements during sleep such as rolling over, kicking legs, crying, laughing, or upward eye-rolling (oculogyric crisis).
3. **Febrile seizures**: These are characterized by sudden loss of consciousness accompanied by generalized or focal, tonic-clonic convulsions of facial and limb muscles.
