Why does coughing cause chest pain?
Disease description:
Over the past few days, I’ve been coughing frequently. I’d like to ask my doctor: Why does my chest hurt—specifically in the area of the heart—when I cough?
If cough is accompanied by chest pain, pulmonary infection or pleuritis—both of which cause inflammatory irritation—should be the primary considerations. However, cardiac disease–related chest pain must also be ruled out. It is recommended that you visit the Department of Cardiology at a hospital and undergo relevant examinations, such as complete blood count (CBC), electrocardiogram (ECG), chest X-ray, echocardiography, and cardiac enzyme tests, to determine the underlying cause and guide appropriate pharmacological treatment. Maintain a light diet and avoid spicy, stimulating, or greasy foods.
