What are the potential complications after undergoing coronary stent placement?
Disease description:
My grandfather has coronary heart disease and underwent a cardiac stent procedure, but I’m not very familiar with the postoperative precautions. What complications or sequelae might occur after cardiac stent placement?
After coronary stent placement, most patients do not experience particularly noticeable long-term complications. However, some individuals may develop complications such as restenosis (narrowing) at the stented site or in other coronary arteries. The occurrence and severity of such complications depend on each patient’s individual postoperative recovery. Patients should ensure adequate rest, maintain emotional stability, avoid significant emotional fluctuations, and refrain from strenuous physical activity.
