Disease description:

It has been three consecutive nights now—blood appears in my mouth at night. My nose has been examined, and there is no sign of bleeding; additionally, I do not usually cough. I would like to ask: What could be causing the recurrent bleeding from my mouth during sleep?

Bleeding from the mouth during sleep may result from gingivitis causing gum bleeding, or from upper gastrointestinal bleeding, pharyngitis, or other conditions. It may also stem from oral trauma or localized bleeding sites—especially if the individual is concurrently taking anticoagulant medications. Treatment may include hemostatic agents, and maintaining good oral hygiene is essential in daily life.
