Causes of Sudden Dizziness, Nausea, and Profuse Sweating at Night

Sudden onset of vertigo, nausea, vomiting, and diaphoresis at midnight is most commonly attributable to a vestibular disorder. However, hypoglycemia or transient ischemic attack (TIA) cannot be ruled out. Random blood glucose and blood pressure measurements should be performed. If necessary, further evaluation may include pituitary function testing or assessment for Ménière’s disease. Treatment options include oral medications and intravenous fluid therapy to alleviate symptoms.
