Sulfuric acid is a highly corrosive and oxidizing substance with an extremely pungent odor. Inhalation of sulfuric acid fumes may cause severe respiratory tract irritation; some patients may develop symptoms such as dyspnea or pulmonary edema. At high concentrations, it can lead to asphyxiation or even death. Immediately open windows to ventilate the room, and rapidly rinse the nasal passages with clean water.
