Normal Cortisol Range
Disease description:
I had a full-body health checkup yesterday. I’m not sure whether my cortisol level is within the normal range—what is the normal reference range for cortisol?
Cortisol is a substance secreted by the adrenal cortex and plays a crucial role in human metabolism and normal physiological functions. Its normal reference range is typically 160–660 nmol/L. Mildly elevated cortisol levels may occur during physiological stress or in individuals with simple obesity. However, significantly abnormal values warrant further investigation for potential underlying pathological conditions.
