What Foods Should Be Avoided After Being Diagnosed with Uterine Fibroids?
Uterine fibroids are a relatively common gynecological condition, with a comparatively high incidence among married women. Patients with uterine fibroids should avoid the following foods:
1. Blood-tonifying and Qi-invigorating foods
Patients with uterine fibroids should avoid blood-tonifying and Qi-invigorating foods such as longan fruit, red dates (jujubes), donkey-hide gelatin (ejiao), and royal jelly. Uterine fibroids are estrogen-dependent tumors; excessive estrogen levels in the body may promote their growth. Therefore, these foods should be avoided.

2. Legumes
Frequent consumption of soy-based products can effectively stimulate the body’s secretion of estrogen. Elevated estrogen levels may accelerate the growth of uterine fibroids. In particular, soybeans and soy-derived foods should be avoided.
3. Cold and cooling foods
Examples include crab, seafood, persimmons, cold salads, mung beans, and bananas. Patients with uterine fibroids should avoid such cold and cooling foods, as they may induce “cold congealing and blood stasis,” thereby worsening the condition.
