Introduction
Penile Contusion: Mild corporal contusion typically resolves within approximately two weeks. In cases of severe contusion or associated hematoma, recovery may take up to one month. Penile Fracture: Surgical intervention is required for penile fracture, and recovery of the corpora cavernosa is relatively prolonged—requiring at least one month. Patients with complications such as hematoma or infection may require up to two months for full recovery.

The penile tissue in males is primarily composed of the corpora cavernosa. Injury to the corpora cavernosa may result from trauma, excessive masturbation, unrestrained sexual activity, or improper force during intercourse.

There are several types of corporal injury, and recovery times vary depending on the specific type.

① Penile Contusion

In cases of penile contusion, the corpora cavernosa sustain concurrent contusion or hematoma formation. Mild corporal contusion typically resolves within approximately two weeks; however, severe contusion or the presence of a hematoma may prolong recovery to one month.

② Penile Fracture

Penile fracture usually involves rupture of the tunica albuginea and corpus cavernosum on one side. Surgical intervention is required to restore anatomical continuity of the corpus cavernosum, along with thorough wound debridement, hemostasis, and prevention of thrombosis. Postoperatively, recovery of the corpus cavernosum generally takes at least one month. In patients with associated hematoma or infection, recovery may require up to two months.

During the recovery period, patients should maintain a light diet, increase intake of vitamins and trace elements, and consume foods that support kidney health and sperm retention. Regular follow-up examinations are recommended as needed, and patients should adhere to their physician’s specific guidance.
