Implantation of the fertilized egg is a complex process that culminates in successful conception only when all necessary conditions are met. After implantation, most women experience no noticeable symptoms; however, a small number may have physiological implantation bleeding and mild cramping. Over the subsequent days, a gradual onset of various symptoms may be observed.

1. Breast tenderness: Following implantation, women often experience breast swelling and tenderness, sometimes accompanied by a subtle pricking sensation. This results from increased estrogen secretion triggered by implantation.

2. Nausea: Some women begin experiencing nausea or morning sickness within the first few weeks after conception. Although commonly referred to as “morning” sickness, this nausea may occur at any time of day—or even throughout the night.

3. Fatigue: Following implantation, progesterone levels rise significantly, leading to profound physical exhaustion and mental fatigue.

4. Lower abdominal discomfort: Implantation may cause a sensation of heaviness or dull aching in the lower abdomen—similar to premenstrual discomfort. This is a normal physiological response resulting from minor blood vessel rupture in the endometrium as the fertilized egg embeds itself into the uterine lining.
