Following successful implantation, blood levels of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) begin to rise, allowing pregnancy confirmation via hCG testing. 1. Drop in Basal Body Temperature

Some women with heightened sensitivity may experience a slight drop in basal body temperature following implantation. This is due to fluctuations in progesterone, which stimulate the hypothalamic thermoregulatory center, leading to a temporary decrease in temperature. However, in some women, the thermoregulatory center is less responsive to progesterone fluctuations, so no noticeable temperature change occurs despite hormonal shifts.

2. Breast Tenderness or Pain

Implantation may cause breast tenderness or pain, triggered by hormonal changes—particularly rising progesterone levels—that affect breast tissue. Some women may also experience lower back discomfort, fatigue, drowsiness, or mild flu-like symptoms. As embryonic development progresses, these symptoms typically subside.

3. Fatigue and Drowsiness

Under normal circumstances, couples actively trying to conceive usually track the woman’s ovulation cycle closely. Intercourse timed around ovulation generally leads to implantation within approximately one week. One week after potential implantation, a blood test performed at a reputable hospital or medical facility can detect pregnancy.
