Introduction
How are asymptomatic感染者 identified? Asymptomatic感染者 are identified through active surveillance, primarily via four approaches: 1. Medical observation of close contacts; 2. Investigation of cluster outbreaks; 3. Tracing of infection sources; and 4. Testing of individuals with travel or residence history in regions—both domestic and international—where sustained transmission of COVID-19 cases has been reported.

Asymptomatic感染者 refer to individuals who exhibit no clinically apparent symptoms—such as fever, cough, or sore throat—that are either self-perceived or identifiable through clinical examination, yet test positive for SARS-CoV-2 (the novel coronavirus) in respiratory or other relevant specimens. So, how are asymptomatic感染者 identified? The following section addresses this question.

How Are Asymptomatic感染者 Identified?

Asymptomatic感染者 are identified through proactive surveillance, primarily via four approaches: (1) medical observation of close contacts; (2) investigation of cluster outbreaks; (3) tracing of infection sources; and (4) testing of individuals with travel or residence history in regions experiencing ongoing local transmission—including areas with confirmed cases domestically or internationally. Furthermore, asymptomatic感染者 fall into two categories: First, individuals who test positive for SARS-CoV-2 via nucleic acid testing but never develop any self-perceived or clinically identifiable symptoms or signs—remaining consistently asymptomatic throughout the infection. Second, individuals who test positive at the time of specimen collection but are symptom-free at that moment, yet later develop clinical manifestations—representing the “asymptomatic infection” phase during the incubation period. It is strongly recommended that asymptomatic感染者 undergo strict isolation and observation, along with regular SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid testing.

Knowledge Extension: How to Prevent Viral Infection

1. Frequent Handwashing

Frequent handwashing is essential upon emergence of a viral threat. Hands frequently contact various pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2. Handwashing is particularly important after returning home from outside, after coughing or sneezing, before touching the mouth, nose, or eyes, after using the restroom, or after contact with animals. When washing hands, use soap and running water, scrubbing for at least 20 seconds to ensure effective disinfection.

2. Maintain Personal Hygiene

Ensure good indoor ventilation during viral outbreaks. Avoid covering your mouth and nose directly with bare hands when coughing or sneezing. Instead, use a tissue or cover your mouth and nose with the inner elbow. Discard used tissues properly and thoroughly wash your hands afterward.

3. Wear Masks Correctly When Going Out

Minimize visits to crowded places and avoid close contact with anyone exhibiting influenza-like symptoms. Medical surgical masks are recommended, as they effectively prevent respiratory infections.

The above outlines how asymptomatic感染者 are identified. We hope this information proves helpful to you.
