Introduction
In general, symptoms of breast diseases primarily include breast masses, breast pain, and nipple discharge—these may be solitary or multiple. Typically, such masses are well-circumscribed, regular in shape, freely mobile, and tender to palpation, with no significant adhesion to the overlying skin. These tumors are most commonly benign, with fibroadenoma being the most frequent type.

With the acceleration of modern life’s pace, the incidence of breast diseases among women has been gradually increasing. So, what are the symptoms of breast diseases?

What Are the Symptoms of Breast Diseases?

In general, the primary symptoms of breast diseases include breast lumps, breast pain, and nipple discharge—these may occur singly or multiple times. A detailed analysis follows:

1. Breast Lumps

Typically, benign lumps are well-defined, regular in shape, freely mobile, non-adherent to the overlying skin, and tender upon palpation. Such lumps are most commonly fibroadenomas. However, if a lump suddenly enlarges, becomes painless upon pressure, adheres to surrounding tissues, is difficult to move, or exhibits ill-defined margins, heightened vigilance is warranted—such features raise concern for possible malignancy.

2. Breast Pain

Early-stage breast tumors may also present as breast pain—a common symptom of breast disease. This pain is often cyclical, intensifying before menstruation and significantly subsiding after menstruation ends. Such pain is frequently associated with benign breast hyperplasia.

3. Nipple Discharge

Nipple discharge is another early sign of many breast diseases. If the discharge appears brown or blood-tinged, it warrants special attention, as it may indicate precancerous changes—or even breast cancer.

Additionally, localized redness, swelling, and fever may accompany these symptoms.

If you experience any of these symptoms, please consult a breast surgeon at a hospital for appropriate evaluation and management. I hope this response proves helpful. Wishing you good health and happiness!
