Treatment for pancreatitis generally includes bed rest, fasting, intravenous fluid resuscitation, shock prevention, energy and electrolyte supplementation, and maintenance of water–electrolyte balance. During treatment, antispasmodic and analgesic medications may be administered to suppress pancreatic exocrine secretion and enzyme activity, along with nutritional support.
