Bleeding is another early symptom of nasal cancer, characterized by blood in nasal mucus or blood-tinged mucus drawn into the mouth—also known as blood-streaked sputum. When bleeding is minimal, it is often overlooked by patients and misdiagnosed as rhinitis or sinusitis. In early nasal cancer, nasal discharge may drip involuntarily, often mixed with small clots of blood, especially after forceful nose-blowing, which makes blood more likely to appear. This can be considered a typical early sign of nasal cancer. Many nasal cancer patients develop swollen lymph nodes in the neck, which are often misdiagnosed as inflammation.
