In daily life, if a patient experiences tinnitus, it should be taken seriously. It's helpful to learn some simple remedies for treating tinnitus. So, what are some effective tips for managing tinnitus?

Tips for Managing Tinnitus

Patients should eat more fruits, vegetables, high-protein and low-fat foods. Avoid noisy environments and maintain a regular lifestyle. Drinking tea is beneficial—green tea is acceptable, but avoid strong tea, as it may stimulate the nerves and worsen tinnitus. Sit quietly, rub your palms together about 50 times, then while they're still warm, quickly press them tightly over both ear canals. Repeat this sequence six times, over a period of 2–3 days. Use your thumbs and index fingers to press the outer ears, rubbing repeatedly from top to bottom. Alternatively, insert your little finger into the ear canal, vibrate gently, then suddenly pull it out. Try this several times—it’s better than doing nothing. Combine these methods with medical treatment for better results. When experiencing tinnitus, try not to become anxious or upset. When the ears are ringing, people often feel annoyed or angry, which can actually worsen symptoms.

Patients can sit quietly, clench their teeth, pinch their nostrils with two fingers, close their mouth, and attempt to blow air out gently until they feel pressure build in their ears (similar to the Valsalva maneuver). Perform this several times daily for 2–3 consecutive days. Massage the left and right auricles alternately with both hands, pushing and kneading repeatedly for 1–2 minutes. Or, insert the middle finger gently into the external auditory canal, shake it lightly dozens of times to displace the air, then suddenly withdraw it, producing a popping sound. This can be repeated 3–5 times. Afterwards, slide both index fingers forcefully from under the middle fingers.
