How to recover milk supply reduced by intravenous infusion
Generally, a decrease in breast milk supply caused by intravenous infusion can be improved through methods such as increasing breastfeeding frequency, adjusting diet, applying warm compresses and massage, or medication.
1. Increase breastfeeding frequency: When milk supply is low, increase the number of breastfeeding sessions. Avoid letting the baby become overly full in one feeding; instead, increase the frequency of infant suckling to stimulate greater secretion of prolactin, thereby enhancing milk production.
2. Adjust diet: Pay attention to dietary habits when milk supply is low, as poor nutrition can reduce milk production. Consume more soups such as papaya soup or chicken soup to promote milk secretion.
3. Warm compress and massage: Before each breastfeeding session, apply a warm towel to the breasts for heat therapy, followed by gentle breast massage. Gentle massage techniques help clear mammary ducts and improve milk supply.
4. Medication: If milk supply is severely low, medications may be used under medical guidance, such as Maidangrutong granules or vitamin E soft capsules, to regulate milk production.
