How to clean ears with oily earwax
Oily ears, also known as wet-type cerumen, can lead to excessive buildup of greasy substances that may easily block the external auditory canal. This condition can be treated by irrigating the ear canal with a solution. The specific steps are as follows:

1. First, gently clean away secretions attached to the external ear canal using a sterile cotton swab.
2. Next, dip a sterile cotton swab into 3% hydrogen peroxide and gently rotate it within the outer 0.5–1 cm of the ear canal to remove secretions. Avoid inserting the swab too deeply into the ear canal during cleaning.
3. Finally, wipe away the solution thoroughly with a sterile cotton swab, then apply antibiotic ear drops to prevent infection.
