Introduction
During teething, the process of tooth eruption in children can damage the gums, causing wounds that may easily become inflamed if not properly cared for, potentially leading to fever. Treatment can involve physical or medical approaches. If a child's temperature exceeds 38.5°C, anti-inflammatory medications may be applied locally under a doctor's guidance, along with oral administration of ibuprofen or acetaminophen for treatment.

During the teething process in children, the emerging teeth can damage the gums, causing wounds. If not properly cared for, these wounds may become inflamed, leading to fever or elevated body temperature. Treatment can be carried out through physical or medicinal methods. Specific procedures are as follows:

I. Physical treatment:

1. Boil a kettle of water and let it cool down, typically controlling the water temperature between 32–34°C.

2. Calm the baby’s emotions and ensure the room is warm when undressing the child.

3. During sponge bathing, use a small towel soaked in lukewarm water to wipe downward starting from the neck. Use a patting motion, and thoroughly wipe areas such as the armpits, groin, and other regions rich in major arteries and blood vessels until the skin appears slightly reddened.

II. Medicinal treatment:

If the child's body temperature exceeds 38.5°C, anti-inflammatory medications may be applied locally under a doctor's guidance, along with oral administration of ibuprofen or acetaminophen for treatment.
