What methods can be used to relieve pain and reduce swelling after being stung by a wasp?
Being stung by a hornet can cause local swelling and pain, as well as acute allergic reactions, even shock or hemolysis. Treatment should be initiated promptly to reduce swelling, relieve pain, and alleviate discomfort. The following methods are recommended:

1. Stay calm and avoid running to prevent provoking further attacks from the hornet swarm.
2. Visit an outpatient clinic where a doctor can examine the wound. If a stinger is found, use tweezers to remove it, or apply adhesive tape to pull it out.
3. Clean the wound with soap water, 3% ammonia solution, or 5% sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) solution.
Additionally, if allergic symptoms occur, take antiallergic medications as prescribed by a physician. Due to potential skin damage, infection may easily develop; therefore, patients should use antibiotics to prevent wound infection. If an abscess forms at the swollen site, incision and drainage should be performed under local infiltration anesthesia, along with removal of necrotic tissue.
